Similar to other waterproof products, your walking boots will last longer and go further if you take care of them. To avoid cracking and eventual splitting after prolonged use, there are a few simple steps you can take to ensure your Mammut boots stay in tip top condition. These include: 

Clean your boots, removing all mud and debris after use 

Nourish the leather when the boots appear dry

Reproof little and often to supplement waterproof levels 

Keep away from heaters or fireplace (this can cause shrinkage and cracking) 

Store in a dry, well ventilated place
