The brand was founded in the Gun Quarter of Birmingham by Alfred Gray Parker in 1880, a respected rifleman of the 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Recognising the need for high-quality shooting aids, Parker started a company that would go on to become a staple in the shooting community. In 1910, Parker invited his nephew, Alfred Thomas Corbyn Hale, to join him in the business. 

By the turn of the century, the Parker-Hale brand had already begun to distinguish itself. The expertise, skills, and passion of both men beautifully merged to drive the company forward, and the release of their first catalogue cemented this. This was just the beginning of their success which continued throughout the 20th century.

Today, while the production of Parker Hale rifles has ceased, the brand continues to thrive under the ownership of John Rothery (Wholesale) Co. Ltd., which acquired the brand name in 2000.
