Sport Headbands Made for Your Country Life
We know the British countryside can be as breezy as it is beautiful, and a reliable headband can make all the difference in keeping your hair in place, your forehead dry, and your ears warm.
We’ve got a fantastic selection of headbands from well-loved brands like Buff, Ariat, and LeMieux, all known for their comfy and durable designs. So, if you’re out hiking the hills, running down country lanes, cycling through the winding roads, or riding through open fields, you’ll find that our range of headbands brings you the perfect accessory to make your day easier.
Why Choose a Sports Headband?
The right headband can make all the difference in your day-to-day. For one, they’re great at absorbing beads of sweat and keeping your forehead dry, so you can get on with things without any distractions.
They’re also perfect for keeping hair out of your face, especially on blustery days when you’re working in the yard, feeding the animals, or out in the garden. And when the colder months roll in, there’s nothing quite like a fleece or Merino wool headband to keep your ears warm.
Built for the Outdoors, Every Day
Our warm headbands are as versatile as they are practical. You can pop one on for a jog, a cycle ride, or a hike through the hills, but they’re just as useful for daily country tasks and outdoor work.
There are lots of different types to pick from, and the great thing is that they never go out of style!
What Would You Wear a Headband For?
For horse riders, headbands are an easy way to keep hair in place under a helmet, or just add a bit of extra warmth or to control sweat when you’re out on the trails. And if you’re working around the farm, a well-fitted headband keeps you from having to brush hair out of your face every few minutes. They are brilliant for sailing, fishing, and other water sports too - basically anywhere where the wind tends to have a mind of its own.
There’s even a fashion element to them. Brands like Dubarry offer gorgeous knitted colourful headbands that look great whether you’re out for a countryside walk or just running errands around the village. Plus, if you're having a bad hair day, you wouldn't know!
Choosing the Best Materials for Your Headwear
When it comes to comfort, it’s all about the materials. Our stylish headbands come in a variety of fabrics to suit whatever you’ve got planned.
For a bit of luxury and warmth, Merino wool headbands are ideal for those chilly days, offering that softness and natural warmth that keeps you comfortable without overheating. Cosy fleece is a popular lightweight, breathable choice, and for those busy days when you’re on the go, our stretchy elastane blends are perfect for keeping your hair in place, even when you’re out and about for hours.
How to Wear Your Headband
It helps to know a few tricks when deciding how to wear your headband.
If you’ve got longer hair, a quick ponytail or low bun is a good way to start. Just pop the headband over, and it’ll sit neatly behind your hairline, keeping everything in check and out of your face. For a bit more security, for example when running or training, you can tie your hair back in a loose plait before slipping the headband on, which helps prevent tangles when you’re out in the wind.
For shorter hair, just slide the headband over your forehead, just above the ears, to keep those stray hairs in place.
Caring for Your Sports Headbands
Most can be popped in the washing machine on a gentle cycle, but always check the label first, though, just to be sure.
For best results, we recommend air drying your headbands to help them keep their shape and elasticity. Avoid the tumble dryer, as it can sometimes cause shrinkage or affect the fit.
When not in use, store any hats in a cool, dry place, and if you have knitted headbands, it’s best not to fold them too tightly to avoid creases.
Find Your Perfect Headband
With styles for both warmth and comfort, our range of sports headbands is designed to stand up to country life in all its forms. Shop our collection today to find your new favourite go-to accessory!
