Traditionally hardwearing and infinitely versatile, our range of high-performance dealer or Chelsea boots are a reliable and fashionable choice for work or play. Available in men’s, ladies’ and unisex sizes and styles, these waterproof leather ankle boots will be a lasting investment in your feet.
Dealer boots for both work and play
With their roots in the Victorian era as horse riding shoes known as paddock boots or jodhpur boots, dealer, Chelsea or market boots as they’re now known are designed for ease of use. The elasticated side gusset makes them easy to slip on and off - no laces required. They’re the shoe of choice for easy-to-remove footwear that still looks fantastic.
While they’ve found their way into mainstream fashion through the years, Dealer boots remain a robust and practical choice of footwear. Stylish in design, these shoes are a match whatever the occasion: whether you’re working in the yard, out on the farm or looking for dress boots to smarten up for a trip into town.
The majority of our range of men’s and women’s Chelsea boots are made from high-quality, heat resistant and waterproof leather uppers. Leather or rubber soles offer comfort and grip and are Goodyear welted; as a result, you can replace the sole easily, making these boots last through the years.
Many of our dealer work boot styles also offer resistance to common liquids such acid, alkali oil and petrol for durability, while breathable, moisture-wicking liners within these boots help to ensure your feet stay comfortable. If you work in an environment where solid footwear is required, you’ll find our selection of steel toe Chelsea boots essential for safety.
Available in men’s and women’s sizes and styles, including flat and heeled Chelsea boots in our Blunstone collection and heavy-duty farmers’ dealer boots designed to endure the most challenging conditions, our selection of unisex ankle boots are a sage choice for tough and resilient footwear.
How to look after your dealer boots
Like any leather boot, our Chelsea boots should last you for years. However, they do require some attention to keep them in their original condition.
We recommend regular cleaning: use a soft brush or wipe gently with a cloth before applying a leather cleaner to remove all dirt and imperfections. Finish by leaving them to air dry away from heat sources, which can damage the leather.
To keep them waterproof and ready to face the elements, applying a waterproofing spray from Nikwax or leather conditioner will give the protection your boots need. To prevent damaging the material, we always recommend testing the product on a small, inconspicuous area of the boot before applying.
